Clostridium perfringens-Induced Necrotic Diseases: An Overview
نویسندگان
چکیده
Clostridium perfringens, a prevalent Gram-positive bacterium, causes necrotic diseases associated with abundant life loss and economic burdens of billions USD. The mechanism C. perfringens-induced remains largely unknown, in part, because the lack effective animal models presence large array exotoxins diverse disease manifestations from skin deep tissues to gastrointestinal tract. In light advancement medical veterinary research, body knowledge is accumulating on factors influencing onset, development, outcomes. Here, we present an overview key virulence perfringens exotoxins. Subsequently, focus comprehensively reviewing such as myonecrosis, acute watery diarrhea, enteritis necroticans, preterm infant necrotizing enterocolitis, chicken enteritis. We then review current understanding mechanisms myonecrosis relation immune system intestinal microbiome. Based these discussions, preventions treatments propose potential new intervention options. purpose this provide updated comprehensive role host–microbe interaction develop interventions against diseases.

Immunization of broiler chickens against Clostridium perfringens-induced necrotic enteritis.
Necrotic enteritis (NE) in broiler chickens is caused by Clostridium perfringens. Currently, no vaccine against NE is available and immunity to NE is not well characterized. Our previous studies showed that immunity to NE followed oral infection by virulent rather than avirulent C. perfringens strains and identified immunogenic secreted proteins apparently uniquely produced by virulent C. perfr...
متن کاملAn unusual necrotic myositis by Clostridium perfringens in a German Shepherd dog: A clinical report, bacteriological and molecular identification
Clostridial myositis, considered to be rare in pet animals, is an acutely fatal toxaemic condition. Some species of clostridia are responsible for necrotic myositis. A 2-year-old male German shepherd dog was admitted with non-weight bearing lameness and massive swelling of the left hind limb. Clostridium perfringens type A with alpha toxin was diagnosed as a pathogenic agent. Based on ...
متن کاملIsolation, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility of Clostridium perfringens isolates from acute necrotic enteritis of broiler chickens
The aim of this study was to isolate, identify and determine the antimicrobial susceptibility of Clostridium perfringens (CP) isolates from acute necrotic enteritis of broiler chickens. All broiler carcasses diagnosed as necrotic enteritis (NE) were sampled, subjected to microbial tests and 40 isolates were identified according to standard procedures. The antimicrobial susceptibility of CP isol...
متن کاملThe Mycotoxin Deoxynivalenol Predisposes for the Development of Clostridium perfringens-Induced Necrotic Enteritis in Broiler Chickens
Both mycotoxin contamination of feed and Clostridium perfringens-induced necrotic enteritis have an increasing global economic impact on poultry production. Especially the Fusarium mycotoxin deoxynivalenol (DON) is a common feed contaminant. This study aimed at examining the predisposing effect of DON on the development of necrotic enteritis in broiler chickens. An experimental Clostridium perf...
